Texas Air Force Base Shooting Leaves at Least 2 Dead

Lackland, Texas - Authorities in Lackland, Texas say that at least two people have been killed in an Air Force Base shooting.

James Keith, spokesman of Bexar County’s sherrif, said Friday that deputies have responded to reports of an active shooter at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The Texas base is the home of the Air Force's basic training.

The official account of the Bexar County Sheriff's Office tweeted at 8:20 am local time that “scene is still active.”

Fort Hood, which was the scene of the deadliest shooting at a United States military base, is located about 160 miles from the Air Force Base in Lackland. In 2009, a shooter killed 13 people and wounded 31 more.
